Hallowen? Halloween?? Halloweeen??? dont know how it spells, but dont miss Spbeer!

Second hello from your sushi boy from "Sushi, Pancakes and a pint of beer"
this is my weekly diary which tells you whats going on in KTCU studio while we are on the air. oops.. dont miss my grammatical and spell mistakes!

As you know, we had a TV camera in the studio. Because of that, all of us got so scared. Chris passed out in a bathroom and both me and Jack called our parents in Japan and London. Oh... very Spbeer
Elisa interviewed all of us about what made us to have a show together or how do we promote our show. It should be on KTCU TV channel next week. You can see how much we were shaking that time.

Also, we interviewed the band called "The Frontier Brothers" on the air. The interview was great and Jack did a great job! I hope we can put more bands on the air in near future. The frontier brothers are Austin based band and playing at the moon this Saturday. Go check them out

oh man, we have a football game tomorrow, I mean soccer. KTCU djs formed a soccer team and tomorrow is the first game day. Since neither me nor Chris can be there, Jack will be the representative of Spbeer.(He is the last troop of us and he is massive enough to threaten other players!)

I hope you are having great time listning to SPBeer. If you have any request, write on our wall on myspace page www.myspace.com/spbeer

It's Tuesday. Awesome.

so i've gotten a lot of calls already tonight about songs we've played,
so i figured i'd put the name of the bands that are getting the most questions on here for people to write down and go check out more of their music.

+rilo kiley
+minipop
+death from above 1979
+hendrick
+dredg
+klaxons
+JUSTICE
+the dear hunter

GO AND LISTEN TO THESE BANDS!

Thanks,

Ross & Taylor.

I love the night

I like working 7-10 better than 5-7.
No traffic reports and better music.
My arm hurts...
I just played can't stop the killer by emery, and although it was rather creepy, I really liked it. Good mix of styles in there.
it's bad when people call and request things, as they often do on the modern alternative shift--
i have no way of looking it up to see if we even have it.

haha funny lyric
"I took my sister to the ocean, but the ocean made me feel stupid"
--Jens Lekman, The Opposite of Hallelujah

this is a weird song...
so I'm psyched because my 9:30 am class is canceled tomorrow.
Meaning I'll still sleep until ten as usual, only it won't count against me.

In other news...
Fog is Creepy.
I never saw that movie, "The Fog" because it looked painfully stupid.
However, I drove in ridiculously heavy fog the other morning and that crap is freaky.
I live in the boonies, so I didn't see another car in this ridiculously excessive cloud for about the first 10 minutes of my drive.
Being half asleep, I began to wonder if I was actually dead.
I accepted it as a possibility, and then wondered why I was still trying to go to school if I was dead.

Update: I wasn't actually dead, it was just crappy weather in a sparsley populated area.

wow. back to back Foo Fighters on the playlist..
Johnathan is pleased.

Life comes at you first...dont miss SPBeer!

hey this is your sushi boy from one of KTCU's high-rating programs, "Sushi, pancakes and a pint of beer." For some reasons, I decided to write weekly diary to tell you whats going on here with some grammatical and spell mistakes.

Its kinda hectic in the studio tonight. Chris has been editting the interview they (jack and chris)recorded today. I am sitting in front of the control board and paying attention (I feel like I'm working at the stock market!!)if everything is alright (so that you dont miss great tunes!!) As for Jack, he has been clicking hot girls on myspace. (he is the one who manages our myspace!)

Oh by the way, all of us are in a soccer team now. we are playing for Intramural thing. I'm wondering what the team name will be. I dont want boring ordinary name for the team like "KTCU foot ball" or stuff like that.
I really like "Less united United", which I have for Fantasy premier league.
How does it sound to you? Or should I say is it your taste? -Keita

One Show Per Week....

..and I've got this one?

Yep -- 6 to 9 AM, Saturday mornings, and you're gonna be here with me for all of it.Buckle up and enjoy the ride.

"Why do I do this?" I think, pretty much every Saturday morning, when I slowly roll out of bed around 5:35. Luckily, I live on the beautiful TCU campus, and getting over to the station and having the first few songs ready to isn't all that difficult of a proposition.

Either way, 6 AM isn't easy for the typical college kid.

Oh well, I guess that's not me then! I've been on the air exactly 16 minutes now (time check, 6:16 AM) and am pretty much fully awake. I think the hardest part now at this hour is to try and not make any huge on-air gaffes or typos on here. Thank goodness for spellcheck!

Now 6:20 AM: So much for no on-air messups.. while listening to a promo, totally forgot to turn off the mic and coughed right there on-air, mid-commercial. This is a classy shindig we've got going on up in here. Oh yeah.

6:37 AM: Just found out that a star from "Lost" (TV Show) is going to be in jail for 6 months for violating probation. Find out who in just a few more....sentences.

6:45 AM: My choice for top song of the hour? "Sky is Falling" by Kara Grainger. Check it out! The song up now is a little more folky and kind of funny in the lyrics.. "Up on Cripple Creek" by The Band. Keeps saying something about "springing a leak.." Haha.

7:03AM: So, it turns out that "Lost" star Michelle Rodriguez is getting sent to jail for 6 months. She violated probation, which was originally given to her as a result of a hit-and-run she committed in Hollywood back in 2003. Tough life these stars must have. Drink drive, hit somone while drunk, run away. Go to court, get off. Get probation and drink again. Go to jail. Doesn't seem to have the same ring as the policy that the Texas Dept of Justice has. (See that lovely billboard at the top)

7:16 AM: So, today is Saturday. I've just realized that it's college football game day, and the Horned Frogs are playing at Stanford this afternoon ay 4 PM central. Let's hope this week is better than the last. Go Frogs!

Now 7:26: The Minutemen have a song called "Corona," the background music of a once-hit TV show on MTV. Check it out, you might be glad you did! Personally I'm not a big fan on the show myself, but I did enjoy the song. Right now we've got Lyle Lovett playing, and I must admit that I haven't given him nearly enough credit. His song called "Penguins" is quite fun to listen to. I think I might actually enjoy the name of his band more, however: Lyle Lovett and his Large Band. I'm glad to know they got that size thing figured out. I guess that means he's a "no" for The Aardvark? :)

7:35: I'm gonna give away two free tickets to Hangman's House of Horrors this morning.. tune in and listen for your chance to win!

8:02: One more hour and I can grab some breakfast before crawling into my nice, cozy bed for sleep, part 2. I generally get back to a nap for 2-3 hours after the show. It helps eliminate any crankiness that could rear its ugly head from an early morning. This isn't to say that I'm not a morning person (that's why i am here now!) but.. man, early is early. For any of you who get up early and tune in, I'm glad to be here right beside you. I know how you feel.

8:28 AM: Man, we've had some crazy CD issues this morning...hopefully the DJs on after me will take note and move around the troubled spots... jsut realized how much that sounds like a traffic report. Guess I've been in here too long. :) If you see this between now (8:28 AM) and 9 AM today, Saturday, October 13, then I want to reward you. Give me a call here at the studio, I have 2 free tickets to Hangman's House of Horrors to give to you. Just tell me that you saw this blog, and the tickets are yours! 817-257-7631. My name is Sully.

8:37 AM: Still no callers for the tickets. Sad day! This will brighten us up though.. Courtesy of criagslist, the story of how one man battles M&Ms to create a more powerful candy race. With respect to the evolutionary theory: http://www.craigslist.org/about/best/tpa/409930561.html

8:46: I've said this about 9424897 times today, but PLEASE.... DO SOMETHING OUTSIDE TODAY! It's gonna be absolutely gorgeous, and I wish I had a bike to ride. Maybe I'll just do the rollerblade thing instead.

8:56: It is a few minutes until I am scheduled to be off of the air, but alas, again, the person supposed to spell me hasn't shown up yet. Sheesh. At least it's been a fun morning! I hope you've enjoyed reading this, as much I have enjyoed writing. Cheers!

We taste much better than Dr. Pepper, Sushi, pancakes and a pint of beer.
