One Show Per Week....

..and I've got this one?

Yep -- 6 to 9 AM, Saturday mornings, and you're gonna be here with me for all of it.Buckle up and enjoy the ride.

"Why do I do this?" I think, pretty much every Saturday morning, when I slowly roll out of bed around 5:35. Luckily, I live on the beautiful TCU campus, and getting over to the station and having the first few songs ready to isn't all that difficult of a proposition.

Either way, 6 AM isn't easy for the typical college kid.

Oh well, I guess that's not me then! I've been on the air exactly 16 minutes now (time check, 6:16 AM) and am pretty much fully awake. I think the hardest part now at this hour is to try and not make any huge on-air gaffes or typos on here. Thank goodness for spellcheck!

Now 6:20 AM: So much for no on-air messups.. while listening to a promo, totally forgot to turn off the mic and coughed right there on-air, mid-commercial. This is a classy shindig we've got going on up in here. Oh yeah.

6:37 AM: Just found out that a star from "Lost" (TV Show) is going to be in jail for 6 months for violating probation. Find out who in just a few more....sentences.

6:45 AM: My choice for top song of the hour? "Sky is Falling" by Kara Grainger. Check it out! The song up now is a little more folky and kind of funny in the lyrics.. "Up on Cripple Creek" by The Band. Keeps saying something about "springing a leak.." Haha.

7:03AM: So, it turns out that "Lost" star Michelle Rodriguez is getting sent to jail for 6 months. She violated probation, which was originally given to her as a result of a hit-and-run she committed in Hollywood back in 2003. Tough life these stars must have. Drink drive, hit somone while drunk, run away. Go to court, get off. Get probation and drink again. Go to jail. Doesn't seem to have the same ring as the policy that the Texas Dept of Justice has. (See that lovely billboard at the top)

7:16 AM: So, today is Saturday. I've just realized that it's college football game day, and the Horned Frogs are playing at Stanford this afternoon ay 4 PM central. Let's hope this week is better than the last. Go Frogs!

Now 7:26: The Minutemen have a song called "Corona," the background music of a once-hit TV show on MTV. Check it out, you might be glad you did! Personally I'm not a big fan on the show myself, but I did enjoy the song. Right now we've got Lyle Lovett playing, and I must admit that I haven't given him nearly enough credit. His song called "Penguins" is quite fun to listen to. I think I might actually enjoy the name of his band more, however: Lyle Lovett and his Large Band. I'm glad to know they got that size thing figured out. I guess that means he's a "no" for The Aardvark? :)

7:35: I'm gonna give away two free tickets to Hangman's House of Horrors this morning.. tune in and listen for your chance to win!

8:02: One more hour and I can grab some breakfast before crawling into my nice, cozy bed for sleep, part 2. I generally get back to a nap for 2-3 hours after the show. It helps eliminate any crankiness that could rear its ugly head from an early morning. This isn't to say that I'm not a morning person (that's why i am here now!) but.. man, early is early. For any of you who get up early and tune in, I'm glad to be here right beside you. I know how you feel.

8:28 AM: Man, we've had some crazy CD issues this morning...hopefully the DJs on after me will take note and move around the troubled spots... jsut realized how much that sounds like a traffic report. Guess I've been in here too long. :) If you see this between now (8:28 AM) and 9 AM today, Saturday, October 13, then I want to reward you. Give me a call here at the studio, I have 2 free tickets to Hangman's House of Horrors to give to you. Just tell me that you saw this blog, and the tickets are yours! 817-257-7631. My name is Sully.

8:37 AM: Still no callers for the tickets. Sad day! This will brighten us up though.. Courtesy of criagslist, the story of how one man battles M&Ms to create a more powerful candy race. With respect to the evolutionary theory: http://www.craigslist.org/about/best/tpa/409930561.html

8:46: I've said this about 9424897 times today, but PLEASE.... DO SOMETHING OUTSIDE TODAY! It's gonna be absolutely gorgeous, and I wish I had a bike to ride. Maybe I'll just do the rollerblade thing instead.

8:56: It is a few minutes until I am scheduled to be off of the air, but alas, again, the person supposed to spell me hasn't shown up yet. Sheesh. At least it's been a fun morning! I hope you've enjoyed reading this, as much I have enjyoed writing. Cheers!
